It’s no secret the rapper has always had a love for the style game, with lyrics such as “I’m a fashion killer, but I’m a trendy n***a.” Since Rocky entered the business, he ‘s always expressed himself in a unique way, embodying street style with a high end personal touch. He recently told WWD, “I mean, its dope when you can mix it. It’s all about taking two worlds like streetwear and high-end and kind of mashing them together.

This isn’t Rocky’s first stab at modeling. In January 2016, he and Naomi Campbell had a spread in POP magazine where they embodied the perfect couple in Guess Clothing.

Kris Van Assche, creative director for Dior Homme says, “I really like his personal style and taste. He’s a real fashion lover. He feels like fashion influences his own work, and he has strong opinions on that.” Van Assche says he looks at A$AP Rocky as a talent that inspires him and sees him with a “rebellion side” with “free spirits.” Assche reveals the goal of his new campaign is one to push cultural boundaries. “I’m trying to push this idea of diversity within one point of view, one style.”

In related news, Rocky discussed another recent (and more hands on) collaboration with J.W. Anderson with Vogue. “I was obsessed with his collection with all the mock necks and turtlenecks and all the square zippers. And obviously I really loved the fur that I wore from his other collections. So I really wanted to make a mixture of those two…. we’ve got two faux fur jackets, hats, two track jackets, and track pants in a knitted material—all original color ways and original silhouettes.”
