Digital dating is taking it to the next level. Bumble and Spotify are teaming up to integrate music and love in hopes of finding your perfect match.
Bumble, a dating app that only allows women to make the first move, was created by Tinder co-founder Whitney Wolfe. Being a woman herself, Wolfe said she made the app that way so that there was less room for “negligent and nasty” behavior.
Bumble plans on making its music feature interactive with listening options for potential matches. The collaboration will show the artists you’ve streamed the most and others will be able to tap on their album artwork, which will lead them to Spotify to start listening.
A spokesperson for Spotify had to say this about the merge: “This integration not only gives Bumble users a peek into the music preferences of their potential connection, but also provides an easy conversation starter.”
Dating apps brought in almost $900 million dollars last year which means this may be a good move for Spotify who has been having a rough year financially. Plus, who doesn’t want the peace of mind knowing that your potential bae is an Aux Gawd?
