Wale took to Instagram a few days ago to announce the release of a new mixtape, Summer On Sunset, with a video trailer and a Friday [June 17] release date.
The morning of the mixtape’s release, Wale released a song via Soundcloud titled “Back To The Sun.” It could’ve been assumed this song was a part of the Summer On Sunset mixtape when in fact it was just a bonus track for fans to listen to while they anticipated the mixtape’s release.
After expressing himself via his Twitter account, we found out Wale was initially encouraged to no longer do mixtapes because of the success he’s acquired over the years. We also learned Summer On Sunset marks a big transition into a new chapter in his life. Through a series of tweets, he stated:
Apologize in advanced . I been workin my ass of in the studio and been so thirsty to get this to my fans . I’m overwhelmed with excitement
