Lanez directly addressed the alleged beef with fellow Toronto emcee Drake and said it’s nothing personal, but he didn’t deny that he wants to steal the spotlight from the 6 God:

At the end of the day there’s never gonna be a personal problem. There’s never been a personal problem because I don’t know that man. It’s just one of those situations where the only thing that’s ever gonna lie between us is that we can’t share first place. And I’m the only guy that’s bold enough to come and really take that right now.

Tory also denied that Drake’s “Controlla” and “One Dance” inspired his reggae flavored single, “Luv”. He revealed he has Bajan roots and noted the Caribbean sounds in his 2011 song “Wind It” featuring Justin Bieber.
