Jay Z has quite a bit of influence when it comes to business. His Roc Nation empire represents some of the world’s most successful musical acts, athletes and personalities. Even with all of his influence and power, there are certain limitations. It is being reported that Hov recently tried to talk his Roc Nation Sports client and free agent Kevin Durant into meeting with the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets. The Knicks were hoping to land the superstar free agent given their increased in cap space and acquisition of Derrick Rose but weren’t in consideration when it was revealed that the favored teams to land him were the Celics, Clippers, Heat, Spurs, and Thunder. Overtime, rumors began to circulate that Durant was beginning to consider perhaps joining the Knicks, but those reports fell flat. Sorry Hov, thanks for trying though.
Woj just said Jay Z and Roc Nation pushed Durant to meet with Brooklyn and the Knicks.
