Linsanity is making a comeback in New York…Brooklyn, New York that is. Jeremy Lin and the Brooklyn Nets have reportedly agreed on a 3 year, $36 million dollar deal, according to ESPN. This means that Lin will return to the city where it all began for him, back in 2011 when he played a magical stretch with the Knicks.

Considering some of the other deals that have gone down already in free-agency, the Nets are getting Lin on the cheap. Lin was a solid back up point guard with the Charlotte Hornets last year, averaging 11.7 points and 3.0 assists per game, per ESPN.com.

Lin, who is only 28, will be a boost for a Nets team that was terrible last season. Earlier this week, the Nets cleared some room at the point-guard position by waiving Jarrett Jack after trying to trade him.

Whether Lin ends up staying in Brooklyn remains to be seen. Lin has moved around the league since leaving the Knicks, playing with Houston and Charlotte, and this contract, because it is so cheap, means that he could be a trade piece in future deals. Nets fans will be optimistic after this deal, especially since they will have an estimated $43 million still to spend after this deal.
