The Charlotte Hornets have agreed to a 5-year, $120 million dollar contract with their swing man, Nicolas Batum, according to ESPN. Batum is a good two-way player, and this deal signifies the new deals that solid role players will be getting with this new salary cap.

Batum will now earn around $24 million a year, after he averaged 14.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game for Michael Jordan’s squad. Charlotte was on the rise last year, with their star point guard Kemba Walker finally rounding into a great player.

The Hornet’s work is not done yet however, with some of their other key players also on the market this summer. Al Jefferson, Jeremy Lin, and Courtney Lee are also free agents, so the Hornets aren’t done spending yet.

Batum reportedly had a meeting set up with Dallas as well, but it looks like they will miss out on the Frenchman. That will only add to Dallas’ woes, along with the reports that there is no chance Chandler Parsons resigns with the team.
