Rumor has it VH1 may be brewing a Jodeci biopic. VH1 has created some of the most talked about biopics of all time—most recently the TLC biopic and most famously the Jackson 5 biopic. While the New Edition biopic is on its way, rumors are swirling.
Jodeci consists of R&B sensations Mr. Dalvin, DeVante Swing, K-Ci, and Jojo. The group was formed in 1988 and most famously known in the ’90s as a leading male R&B group when they stepped out with their debut album Forever My Lady. Jodeci has had a hand in creating the modern day R&B sound by penning hits such as “Come and Talk to Me,” “Stay” and “Forever My Lady.”
Much like other R&B groups, Jodeci eventually split after their third album, although K-Ci and Jojo found success as a duo. In 2014, the group came together to release an album on Epic records entitled The Past The Present The Future, which dropped in 2015. An unverified twitter account claiming to be Mr. Dalvin fueled the biopic rumor, however, there is no confirmation from VH1.
The last biopic from VH1 was the 2013’s TLC: Crazy, Sexy, Cool biopic, which starred Lil’ Mama, KeKe Palmer, and Drew Sidora. It created major media buzz and raked in 4.5 million viewers which according to Vibe Magazine, made it the highest rated original program in VH1‘s history.
