The attacks happened on Friday and Saturday at Sweden’s Party in the Park Festival in the city of Karlstad. Victims claim they were randomly kissed and groped by different “foreign young men.” Alexandra Larsson, a 17-year-old victim explains her situation to Mail Online. After John de Sohn‘s set is when things allegedly began to spin out of control. Alexandra and her friends got into a slight verbal altercation with a group of boys after they began getting shoved up against the stage and tried to get things to settle down. The boys didn’t take well to the concerns of the young women saying,  “you will die, b***h.”

“We managed to walk away from those boys after a while and started watching the concert. That was when I felt the first touch against my bottom.” Alexandra told Mail Online. “Then someone took the liberty of grabbing my butt really hard. I turned away and said to the group of boys behind us that this was not okay, but I did not know who had done it. After a while, I felt someone running his fingers between my legs touching my genitals. Luckily, I had jeans on me.” The assault continued and shortly afterward Alexandra and her friends decided to leave the concert.

Alexandra described the boys to be around 17 or 18 years old of foreign descent and explained how they ruined her concert experience. “I have reported this to the police, but it feels like a drop in the ocean. I saw girls that came crying from the audience, including an old childhood friend who is two years younger. She cried so much that it broke my heart.” Alexandra said. “The same thing had happened to her in front of the stage. A bunch of teenagers hidden in the crowd had grabbed her bottom, breast and genitals.”

The Party in the Park Festival is a free concert that had about 20,000 attendees everyday from Thursday to Saturday. According to Daily Mail, Swedish police have arrested two boys who lived in a nearby asylum center for unaccompanied refugee children. The Swedish police started a new campaign about a week prior against groping. The objective was to spread awareness by starting a Twitter hashtag that says “#tafsainte” which means ‘don’t grope’ and to hand out bracelets that said don’t molest.

Attacks took place both during and after the festival and Swedish police have been taking matters very seriously.
