After last night’s [Wednesday, July 6] showing at the Dyckman Streetball Tournament, Team Kemba should be called the “comeback crew.” For the second time this season, they were able to brush off a slow start and finish strong, resulting in ab impressive two-point win over Final Four.

The Monsignor Kett Playground was the hottest ticket in the city as Dyckman was back in action after a nice break from the court due to the Fourth of July holiday observation. HOT 97 and Metro PCS came out to show the fans love, with DJ Bobby Trends on the 1’s and 2’s turning the crowd all the way up. Harlem rapper Dave East was also in the building to witness Team Kemba rally from 14 points down to defeat Final Four with a score of 77-75.

Leading the way for Team Kemba was Troy Marcus with 20 points and Bryce Elie with 15 points. Late 3 pointers from Andre Armstrong helped capped off an impressive run during the latter minutes of the game as fans were just in complete awe with how much of a collapse Final Four displayed during crunch time.

Final Four, who dominated the entire game up until the fourth quarter, were led by Marquis Lee with 22 points. He received a lot of help from his teammate Tyree White, who had an impressive all around game with 18 points, five rebounds and three assists. Final Four had the game won but due to poor decision making and time management, they weren’t able to close out the game successfully. Final Four - 1(1)

In the second match-up, Skull Gang easily cruised past Heavy Reign with a final score of 78-62. Skull Gang completely strong armed Heavy Reign as they were led by former Iona College shooting sensation Sean Armand. The three-point assassin dropped 19 points, while Shondel “Muss” Stewart contributed to the win with 17 points.

Heavy Reign started off strong but couldn’t get things clicking during the second half of the game. Turnovers and defensive pressure got the best of them. Leading the way for Heavy Reign were “Disco” Dominique Jones with 17 points and forward Edis Dervisivic with 14 points.
