Odell Beckham has had arguably the best first two seasons of any wide receiver in the history of the NFL. His numbers rival that of the greats, including guys like Jerry Rice, Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. His status as one of the best overall players in the NFL has also been cemented over the last two years, despite those years being his first as a professional player. Even considering the disappointing seasons the Giants have endured from 2014-2016, Beckham has shined, and given the Giants–depending on the health of Victor Cruz moving forward–possibly the most talented 1-2 wide receiver combination in the NFL.
So, Beckham naturally believes that he’s better than just the 10th-best player in the league. So when the NFL 100, an annual ranking of the 100 best players in the league, created by NFL players, was revealed, Beckham publicly pondered narrowly making the top tier.

For what it’s worth, there were some absolute studs ranked ahead of Beckham, including Tom Brady, a man that has rights to the greatest of all-time claim, and superstar talents like Cam Newton and J.J. Watt. However, Beckham using his placement as motivation will only make for an even more exciting season from the fiery, dance-happy receiver, so we’re all for it.
