Swizz Beatz and Scarface Are Tired Of The “Sad News” Kiara Dunston July 8, 2016 Hip Hop News | Trending Hip Hop Stories, Listen Now, New Hip Hop Music | New Hip Hop Singles and Remixes, New Music “Little boy got shot down today/a little boy got shot down today/I hope his family is okay/I hope his family is okay” are the poignant words leading into “Sad News” by Swizz Beatz featuring Scarface. “Get on your knees and pray/get on your knees and pray/we hope the whole world be okay” are sentiments reflected in the song that follow the same tone. In a much needed and timely song dedicated to all of the senseless acts of murder that occurred recently , Swizz and Scarface team up to artistically address the issues and encourage better days. This comes in the wake of two back-to-back fatal shootings by police. First was Alton Sterling followed by Philando Castile. “Sad News” resonates intensely, as it mentions some of the world’s biggest shortcomings pertaining to the injustices towards the Black community. Swizz takes control of the hook while Scarface compliments him in a verse. The song references the Klu Klux Klan, Donald Trump, and the generalized untimely death of those who’ve lost their lives unjustly as a result of inequality and an overall disregard for the lives of minorities.
