The newest generation of rap stars can lay claim to several young artists as its leaders, but you’d be hard-pressed to find two rappers more worthy of the title than Desiigner and Lil Yachty. After “Panda,” Desiigner’s breakthrough single which utilizes a $200 instrumental the Brooklyn rapper purchased online, blew up–thanks in large part to a Kanye West co-sign, Desiigner immediately became one of the up-and-coming-rapper realm’s crown jewels, and Yachty quickly followed suit with the release of his Lil Boat mixtape. (For what it’s worth, Yachty has also been the beneficiary of a Kanye West co-sign.)
That being said, this news should excite fans of both rappers everywhere. As expected, Desiigner can be seen wilding out in the studio while Lil Yachty kicks it; both are likely plotting on a collaboration that will f*ck up the summer. Or are they putting some tweaks on a Turbografx 16 cut?
We’ll know sooner or later.
