Tory Lanez has the formula for success covered. His hit single “Say It” is still in heavy rotation all over the country. “Luv,” his most recent single, and the official second single off his upcoming album I Told You is gaining more traction every day. And this is all looking like just the beginning of what this incredibly talented young man has to offer the game.
Aside from being an amazing songwriter, Tory is also a rapper, singer, producer, director and fashion designer. His Chixtape mixtape series was critically acclaimed partly due to the heavy sampling of R&B hits from the 90’s and early 2000’s, a sound that Lanez along with frequent collaborator and producer Play Picasso have had great success with.
The days of Drizzy being the only name buzzing in T. Dot are in the past and while they are clearly at different stages of their careers, there’s no denying that some of that spotlight Drake has grown accustomed to having will have to be shared with the 23-year-old rising star. The fact that international superstar musician Ed Sheeran covered his hit “Say It” and co-signed young Tory’s work further proves that he’s heading in the right direction towards greatness.
The groundwork has been put in. He has a loyal fanbase and a solid backing from Interscope Records. The only thing left to do is release the major label debut album (I Told You) that everybody has been waiting for and show the masses exactly why he is heralded as one of the best new artists on the come up and that he’s going to be here for a while.
