With tailored suits donning the Cuban national colors and flag honoring the athletes as they prepare for Rio, Team Cuba will suit up in a Christian Louboutin collaboration, SportyHenri.com, for the Olympic Closing Ceremony.
Named the Official Supplier of the Celebratory Outfit for the Cuban delegation, shoe extraordinaire Louboutin created custom outfits for over 100 athletes. Louboutin designers have looked towards athletes for inspiration before and this time was no different as Olympians provided insight into the design. But for partner Henry Tai, professional sports comes closer to home. He played handball in France before recently founding E-concept store SportyHenri.com, and his past came to the aid of the French atelier.
From the fabric to the silhouette, the designs support the figure of Cuban gymnasts, wrestlers, fighters, runners, and other olympians. And as each craft differs in body type, Louboutin and Tai worked for the perfect fit and comfort to surround muscles and height. Each athlete received a red or beige jacket complemented wiht trousers, shorts, or a skirt. With footwear being an important factor in the rest of the body’s condition, the atelier provided Team Cuba with calf leather high-top trainers and loafer style Naza Star, and kitten heel sandal.
