Vic Mensa has been on an absolute tear with his radio freestyles. The Chicago rapper added to his growing list of standout performances during his return visit to Sway in the Morning. This time around, Vic brought fellow Windy City rhymer Joey Purp with him. The talented MCs traded bars to the delight of Sway, who literally walked off the set when the freestyle session came to an end. You can check it all out around the 35 minute mark in the video.

Fans probably remember Vic Mensa appearing on Sway in the Morning just one month ago. The Roc Nation artist made such a quick return to allow a loyal Sway fan named Mitch to meet the famed radio host. Mitch happened to be the depressed fan Vic was speaking to when the rapper got kicked off a United Airlines flight. That moment hit home with Vic since mental health is an important issue in his life. He spoke about it during his previous appearance on Sway in the Morning.

“Mental health is something that a lot of people just aren’t ready to talk about, especially in the Black community, especially Black men,” Vic said. “It’s all shied away from, and I think my purpose in making music is to tell my truth as fully as I can, so if by doing that I can make somebody else feel comfortable in their truth, that’s an accomplishment to me.”
