It may have taken nine studio albums to do so but Gucci Mane has hit a career high position on the Billboard charts. His latest album Everybody Looking landed in the #2 slot on this week’s Billboard 200 chart, selling 68,000 units in the album’s first week, second only to Drake whose Views album still holds down the top spot.

This is a big win for Gucci, who has always stayed consistent with releasing material even through his entire prison sentence but until now hadn’t seen this level of chart topping success. The Billboard chart isn’t the only thing linking Gucci and Drake together. They are also rumored to be working on a joint project titled 6er’s” a fittingly-titled project given Gucci is from Zone 6 in Atlanta and Drake is from Toronto, often referred to as the 6.

Only time will tell if Everybody Looking will hold its position on the charts. While the star features (Drake, Kanye West, Young Thug) could have lent a helping hand to the success of the first week sales, holding its spot will depend more on the strength of the project itself and is something that will have to be seen. For now congratulations are in order to Gucci on the achievement. He paid his debt to society and seems to be continuing on his path of positive vibes, and it’s looking like it’s paying off.
