Actor Jared Leto is so connected to his latest role that he doesn’t want to do anything else.
Playing the infamous villain The Joker, Leto has fully taken on all that encompasses the eccentric DC comics character for the upcoming film Suicide Squad. A full-on personal commitment, the 30 Seconds To Mars frontman is not ready to let go of his essential role to the movie.
Speaking with the Toronto Sun, Leto touched on his love for the role: “I hope it’s an introduction (to The Joker) and not the end!…Because I could easily just play The Joker a couple more times and then retire. Because it’s so fulfilling and so creative and it’s so imaginative. It’s really difficult to think about doing anything else!”
In fact, Leto is so serious about his dedication to his role that he has his own dreams for The Joker. Professing his hopes for the character, Leto states, “I think it would be incredible to see Batman and The Joker go head-to-head! This Batman and this Joker. I mean, I don’t know, that might be too much! But that would be fun.”
Suicide Squad releases in theaters Friday, August 5.
