It’s been 22 years since New York-bred rap trio The LOX joined forces, and it’s a wonder we’re still discussing them as a viable force. A group of guys–Jadakiss, Sheek Louch, Styles P–that adapted to Puff Daddy‘s 1990’s shiny-suit realm, then battled through imminent label peril to release some of the most essential rap songs of their generation–both as a group and as solo acts–deserve to be celebrated in 2016. Especially considering the fact that they can unite at any given time and rise above a large percentage of the crop of artists currently out, be them internet sensations or street dreamers like their 20-something selves.
