It’s no longer just Twitter talk. Kanye West is serious about running for President in 2020. He recently spoke to BBC Radio 1 where he explained why he’ll be running for president and he actually has a great point.

Kanye first announced he will be running for President in 2020 last year during the MTV VMA’s in one of his many rants. Much like everything else Kanye says, America brushed it off. He then did an interview with Vanity Fair the following month saying he will definitely be running for president. Again, America didn’t take Kanye too seriously.

Now Kanye isn’t claiming to be the most politically savvy or politically correct candidate, but he does say he has goals toward the greater good for humanity. “When I talk about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views,” Kanye told BBC. “I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth.”

“We are numb, we’re numb to 500 kids getting killed in Chicago a year, we’re numb to the fact that it was seven police shootings in the beginning of July … we’re numb to places on the Earth that we don’t live – like our life is okay but it’s okay for other people’s lives to not be okay…” Kanye said during the interview on Monday [August 1], “When I talk about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views, I don’t have views on politics, I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I’m alive I’m going to try to do it.”

With the international platform that Kanye has, he may not have to run for President of the United States in order to see the change that he wants. If he gathered up his Kardashian crew for a purpose, the real impact they could have may be bigger than him submerging himself in personal debt to become the president. What do you think?
