While promoting Suicide Squad, Will Smith had a conversation with E! and it turns out he has no interest in rebooting the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He said, “I don’t think ever, like pretty close to when hell freezes over. Like, we’re going to leave that one alone.”
Despite his feelings about the timeless show, that hasn’t stopped him from performing the iconic theme song on The Ellen Show and The Graham Norton Show.
Last year EW reported Smith’s production company, Overbook Entertainment, is developing a family comedy series that is said to share similarities with the ’90s sitcom that made Will Smith a household name.
Although Smith’s reign as the Fresh Prince ended two decades ago, he will always be the Fresh Prince in our hearts. He even told Graham Norton himself in a 2012 interview before performing the theme song, “Every country in the world, that is the thing I am most known for. No matter how big the movies get, it’s Fresh Prince everywhere.”
