Taylor Bennett stopped by Sway in the Morning and rapped a cut called “Chance Song.” Sampling “D.R.A.M. Sings Special” from Coloring Book, Taylor describes his big brother Chance The Rapper‘s influence on his music career and life.
The track ended up on Soundcloud and finds the Chicago rapper vulnerable yet courageous light in a tone that takes us back to early Chance. At the end of his three-minute performance Taylor says “Without him, none of this s*it would be possible. And I don’t mean that on some rap s*it, I just mean that on some like…that’s my brother, he saved me from a lot of s*it. There’s a lot of s*it in Chicago.”
During his visit the younger Bennett also upped the ante of Sway’s “5 Fingers of Death” freestyle challenge by participating in the first “10 Fingers of Death” ever.
Bennett dropped his independent album Broad Shoulders at the end of 2015, which featured a collaboration with chance on the title track “Broad Shoulders.”
