Celebrities are taking over the game show world. According to Deadline, ABC is keeping four star-studded games in your television lineup.
Celebrity Family Feud put a spin on the popular game show, and was recently renewed for its third season on ABC. Steve Harvey took over as host when ABC revived it in 2015, replacing Al Roker. Since then, producers snagged numerous guests for epic face-offs. Past and upcoming episodes challenge the families of Snoop Dogg, Laila Ali, the Braxtons, Dr. Phil, Sugar Ray Leonard, Holly Robinson Peete, Keke Palmer, Niecy Nash, Alfonso Ribeiro, Melissa Joan Hart, Jaleel White, and Alan Thicke among others to reign supreme.
Then come ABC’s rookies, all renewed for their second season. To Tell The Truth tricks stars with two conmen and one honest individual, all claiming to be living out the same truth. Season one brought the tales of a champion pole dancer, Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend, a serial lottery winner, and Channing Tatum’s stripping instructor to the be judged by a celebrity panel. Anthony Anderson hosts, while Nene Leakes, Betty White, and Anderson’s mother make regular appearances.
Host Michael Strahan will be one happy camper as the host of the renewed $100,000 Pyramid. Partners must describe challenge phrases to one another, without saying the word itself. Martha Stewart, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Weird Al Yankovic, and Terry Crews are just some of the famous faces of the first season.
Match Game is a veteran game show, running over 40 years on television. However, its renewal will make it only in its sophomore season on ABC. Alec Baldwin hosts a panel of six celebrities. Contestants must answer his questions in hopes that the celebrities think in the same way they do. Bobby Moynihan, D.L. Hughley, J.B. Smoove, Rosie O’Donnell, and Sherri Shepherd have all been apart of its inaugural season this summer on the network.
Except for To Tell The Truth, all the shows make up “Sunday Fun and Games” on ABC.
