After being judged by the world, Gabby Douglas is doing the judging, but in a positive way.

The Olympic gold medalist is set to take on the role for the historic pageant on September 11th, in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

“Miss America has been such an amazing event for so many years and I am excited to have the opportunity to judge the competition this year,” Douglas said.

The 20-year-old athlete has been the center of controversy surrounding her hair in the public eye which has caused a lot of dialogue about the way women in sports are judged for their appearance.

“The contestants are a great example of strong women across America and I especially look forward to hearing the platforms that each of them will represent.”

After coming out stronger than ever in the media, she is ready to take on different roles and expend her brand in a way that will empower women along the way.
