Phylicia Rashad has been casted for the third season of Empire, alongside Mariah Carey, Sierra McClain, French Montana and Birdman.
Rashad will play the on-screen mother of Taye Diggs who will portray an aggressive city councilmen named Angelo Dubois. As she sets higher bars for her only son, she rubs Cookie and Lucious the wrong way.
Rashad has lots of experience playing a television mom. She is famously known for her role as Claire Huxtable on The Cosby Show. Thus, her delivery in the forthcoming season of Empire is sure to be promising.
