NFL Hall Of Famer and former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice had some choice words for current 49ers quarterback Colin Kapernick, who recently made a non-violent, socio-political statement by not standing during the National Anthem before the game against the Green Bay Packers last week.
Rice addressed the younger Kapernick via Twitter, stating,

Rice, not long after, faced a tidal wave of backlash from those who believe that Kapernick was not only correct in making in stance, but also believed he had the undisputed right to do so.
Fellow Hall of Famer Jim Brown told NFL Network Monday he is “with (Kaepernick) 100 percent.” The three-time NFL MVP and actor is also an outspoken activist on social issues.
Kaepernick said he sat during the anthem before all three preseason games this year and will continue to do so as a form of protest for what he says is the oppression “of black people and people of color.” The Black Lives Matter movement was started to protest the deaths of black people who were shot by police officers, and to help bring awareness to racial profiling, police brutality and racial inequality in the country’s justice system.
