Donald Glover [a.k.a. Childish Gambino] is a multitalented being. For better or for worse, it’s not fully possible to get all of his talents at one stretch of time. We may get an album here and then we’ll have to wait on the back burner to get something spectacular in one of his many other mediums. As his show “Atlanta” continues to shatter new records for cable comedy, his upcoming album is a hour glass, with incomplete time scape.
Joining James Corden on the CBS Late Show, alongside Nascar’s Jimmie Johnson, Gambino was uncertain on just when the world would receive his brand new album.
“I don’t know and I really don’t. I’ve been writing like everyday… It’s funny because everybody who came got to see something that will probably be different when they hear it, but I really don’t know when it’s coming out,” he answered.
Although we’re not sure when to expect the album, Bino’s show “Atlanta” is serving the culture well. Receiving a Metacritic score of 90, it’s cable comedy’s biggest debut since 2013’s Inside Amy Schumer. Glover cleverly mixes in comedy with drama, leaving viewers uncertain about what to expect each time to watch an episode, let alone a scene.
