Lo, whose real name is Carlos Walker, was one of the founding members of Dirty South rap collective D4L, the crew who created the 2005 hit record “Laffy Taffy.” Though he was incarcerated during the song’s apex, upon his release, Shawty Lo embarked on a solo career of his own, dropping his solo debut album “Units In The City” in 2008. On his debut, he scored the biggest hit of his career with the repititious hook “Dey Know”.
