With everything going on in the world today, music is a wonderful art from to uplift, create change, and inspire.  Artist, educator, and activist Messiah is using his extraordinary talents as a platform to create awareness, change the lives of others, and inspire listeners to do the same.

He started his career teaching poetry at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC. He went on to perform, conduct workshops, and presentations all throughout the Caribbean and United States. His work and passion led him to serve as a facilitator and director for Friends of Island Academy where he provides mentorship, creative writing coaching, and reentry services for young men who are incarcerated. This is located on Rikers Island jail in NY where 16-19 year old’s can be incarcerated as adults.

As an accomplished artist he has six Hip Hop spoken word albums under his belt and has shared the stage with many including Lupe Fiasco, Styles P, Ledisi, Kelly Price, Raheem Devaughn, and more.  Messiah continues to inspire through his words.

His latest video, “We Still Swim” Feat. Elsun Bless, launched last night [October 10], is some inspirational encouragement that reminds us of our inherited resilience and to keep going despite the odds.
