After opening the 2016 Soul Train Awards with a bang,  Dru Hill took viewers down memory lane to some of our favorite tracks from the 90s, including “Tell Me, “In My Bed,” and “Beauty,” the first time on network TV, ending with Sisqo’s “Thong Song.” Now, the Baltimore natives are releasing new music for the first time in six years with new track “Change,” released minutes after their medley performance for free as a thank you to their loyal fans.

“As a group that has been in the industry for 20 years, we feel so lucky to have fans that support us in everything that we do. Now, we feel like it’s time to give back. This single is just the beginning.,” says the multi-platinum group.

Tamir “Nokio” Ruffin wrote “Change” right after unrest broke out in Baltimore in 2015 following the death of Freddie Gray and it’s powerful lyrics are directly linked to the plans they have in place with Baltimore leadership to bring real changes to their hometown.

The song is also the second anniversary gift to fans after the launch of the “#TellMe Fan Contest,”  a competition the 90s hit makers is running through social media where followers get to submit entries explaining why they’re Dru Hill’s #1 fan for a chance to hang with the group at their December 18th Chicago concert.
