Harlem has been a one stop shop for talent in hip-hop since the early days of the culture. We’ve gotten incredible spitters from the late great Big L, to Cam’ron and his Dipset crew, as well as many more. Harlem rising star Snakeyez is carrying on tradition by painting vivid pictures of the borough that he calls home through his music.
“Memories”, one of the tracks that got fans familiar with Snakeyez, does exactly what the song title implies and takes listeners on a trip down memory lane, giving them a glimpse at his life and what it took to get to this point in his career.
“Welcome To El Barrio”, which appears to be a track off of his upcoming mixtape sharing the same name, doesn’t stray too far away from the content on “Memories”, once again taking fans through some of the struggles of coming up in his borough.
Snakeyez is currently juggling music and battle rap simultaneously, proving to be a definite threat in both categories. He is the newest addition to Harlem based crew Dot Mob and also reps his own team Factz Gang. He is also one of URL‘s (Ultimate Rap League) most promising new battlers and the future is indeed looking bright for this up and comer. With only a relatively small amount of work out as of yet, he’s already proved that he plans on being one of the torch carriers for Harlem.
