Donald Trump was a no-show last night [April 29th] at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner. He instead held a rally in Harrisbury, Penn. to discuss his low approval rating.
By reciting the lyrics to a soul song called “The Snake,” Trump played into the prejudice and anti-immigrant label.
“The Snake” is a song about a giving woman who takes in a snake whose freezing and is later bitten and killed from it. It’s being directed towards the radical Islamists whose Trump supporters think are coming into the United States as immigrants.
He dedicated this song poem to the undocumented immigrants which he accuses of causing most of America’s crimes.
“So let’s dedicate this to [Secretary of Homeland Security John] Kelly, the Border Patrol, and the ICE agents for doing such an incredible job. All right?” Trump said.
