The Atlanta Hawks and their fans suffered an upsetting first round exit in 6 games at the hands of the Washington Wizards, but are looking to bounce back in a big way with a few unique additions to their home of Philips Arena. Nearly $200 million dollars will go into the additions of the NBA’s first courtside bar, a Killer Mike barbershop facing the court, and two Top Golf simulators.
The renovations are set to be complete by the 2018-2019 NBA season, and were funded by the Hawks organization, the profit made from the sale of Turner Field to Georgia State University, and car rental tax from Atlanta airport.
Hawks fans have been treated to ten straight playoff berths, and while the championship they desire has yet to come, they will get to enjoy watching their team play in a special way very soon. Take a look at simulations of the intended renovations below.
