18-year old Bianca Roberson had just graduated high school in the spring and was preparing herself to attend Jacksonville State University in the fall.
However, that chapter came to a tragic close before it ever began after the teen was fatally shot in the head by another driver in an extreme and excessive case of road rage.
It was Wednesday (June 28), that Bianca was returning home from a school shopping trip when she and motorist David Andrew Desper attempted to merge into the same lane.
“As Bianca was merging from two lanes to one, there was a man in a red pick up truck also merging down and they jockeyed for position and he wasn’t happy,” said District Attorney Tom Hogan. ”So he pulled out a gun and shot Bianca in the head, killing her instantly.”
“This is the story of a savage and senseless murder,” Hogan said of the fatal moment.
Bianca was originally with her mother and grandmother during the day and decided to split up with them and meet up at home.
After her car swerved into a tree, Bianca’s body was found in a ditch off the highway, her grandmother drove by the crime scene without knowing that her granddaughter was the victim.
Desper cowardly fled the scene, inciting a four-day manhunt with $5,000 reward for any information leading to his arrest.
It was early Sunday morning (July 2) that he surrendered after authorities track own his truck through surveillance footage. The also found the 40-caliber semi-automatic handgun used to kill Roberson at Desper’s home.
It is a legal firearm that he had a license to carry.
He’s since been charged with first-degree murder and is being held at Chester County Jail without bail.
