Kid Rock says he’s running for U.S. Senate in Michigan – or at least he wants his fans to think so.

The rocker, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, confirmed via Twitter that the website KidRockForSenate.com was real.

The musician’s website has a photo of Rock with the words “Are you scared?” underneath.

“You never met a politician quite like me,” the site says.

An array of Kid Rock for Senate merchandise – including yard signs, t-shirts and hats – are for sale on the website.

If he’s serious about the run, Rock would face incumbent Democrat Debbie Stabenow for the Michigan seat that’s up for election in 2018. Stabenow has been in the Senate since 2000. The state’s other Senator, Gary Peters, is also a Democrat.

Rock’s website doesn’t confirm he’ll be running as a Republican but he’s endorsed GOP candidates – including President Donald Trump – in the past. Rock, along with fellow musician Ted Nugent and former Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin, visited the White House in April.
