Corey McClendon was booked for attempted murder but is now in the clear because police are doing a “further investigation”, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, Greg Risling. Risling kept any further details of the ongoing investigation under wraps but he did explain that “Under California law, if you are arrested and booked and no charges are filed within 48 hours, you have to be released.”

He schooled us some more and said in order for the police to press charges they have to “come back to us with a case and then (the district attorney) will decide whether to file charges.”
