Fitness expert and trainer Massy Arias is now #CoverGirlMade.

Massy Arias is the next woman of color to join actor Issa Rae and chef Ayesha Curry as a CoverGirl. An Afro-Latina representing the Dominican Republic, Arias began her journey as a fitness coach and trainer all because of her clinical battle with depression.

At 13, she left the Dominican Republic and immigrated to Queens, New York. However, the hurdles she were to endure were unforeseeable. Her brother fell sick with cancer, and she left an emotionally abusive relationship that would both change her life forever. Unable to eat, her body was deteriorating. She was loosing weight, her hair was falling out, and on top of that, she was deeply depressed. Eventually, Arias knew it was time to make a change.

The MankoFit fitness guru made an astounding 180 and healed her mind and body through her dedication to exercise. Her personal lifestyle change inspired her to change the lives of others. And now, Arias has a number of successful workout programs, and helpful tutorials and healthy diet tips for her whopping 2.3 million followers on Instagram. She shared her excitement of being a CoverGirl via Instagram, “I remember watching America’s next top model growing up as a young girl. Dreaming of a chance to experience for just one minute what it’d be like to take pictures with pretty makeup and pretend I was a model… A Covergirl.” Now a mother of a baby girl, Arias is a CoverGirl boss continuing to make strides for young girls and women worldwide.
