The New York Giants’s season has officially hit rock bottom. Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a fractured ankle in New York’s 27-22 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, the Giants announced. Beckham will undergo an MRI to see if there is any ligament damage.

Late in the fourth quarter, Beckham went up for a catch, was hit in the air by a Los Angeles Chargers defender, and came down under the defender, his ankle bending underneath the defender’s body.

The Giants, who made the playoffs last season after an 11-5 campaign, are one of only three winless teams in the NFL. It’s unclear how long OBJ will be out for. His injury came on the same afternoon that the Giants also lost wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shephard to injuries.

No estimated time table to when we can expect Odell Beckham Jr  back on the field. Many believe his season is pretty much over. The sad part in all this is OBJ expressed his desire to be the highest paid NFL player.

This was supposed to be the season that Beckham took his incredible talents to another level. Nike signed him to the highest-paid shoe contract in NFL history this summer, but this injury puts all his touchdown celebrations and brand building on the shelf. In a league filled with drama, OBJ bought some excitement, style and grace to the Giants and the sport itself.
