The singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, previously teased his fans in a series of Twitter and Instagram posts, hinting that there’d be an announcement for the comic at the NYCC, which took place October 6 – October 8.

During his first-ever on-camera interview with Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 show last November, the Weeknd spoke about putting his Starboy alter ego into a comic.

Starboy is the next chapter in this chronicle, this saga. ‘I guess this is the fourth chapter. He’s a character that we created. It’s so funny, we want to create a comic out of him as well…He’s a cool, dope character that makes appearances a lot on the album.

The Weeknd shared the cover art for Starboy on his Instagram, and signed physical copies at the Comic Con after making his announcement of his latest project.

Marvel revealed several collaborations with different musicians in the past. In March, Marvel released a comic book collaboration with The Black Eyed Peas for Masters of the Sun–The Zombie Chronicles. Other musicians — like Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Kiss also received the comic books.

In other The Weekend related news, he collaborated with H&M for his “Selected by the Weeknd” capsule collection. The 18-piece clothing line dropped in stores on September 28th. The Canadian singer is currently touring his Starboy: Legend Of The Fall world tour.
