NeNe Leakes will no longer be hosting the Xscape Tour following her rape “joke” to a heckler during a comedy show.
Loni Love and Tiffany Haddish were the stars of the show, but NeNe became the focus after she told an audience member that she hoped they got raped by their Uber driver. The tasteless exchange was caught on camera.
NeNe issued a remorseful apology via Facebook on Monday, October 2nd in a post that read:
I truly regret and apologize for what I said from the stage in Oakland over the weekend. Sometimes words can cut deep and hurt when you have no intentions of them doing so. As a woman and someone who has survived abuse, I regret the words that I used. I made a mistake and I should have known better. I hope people accept my deepest and sincerest apologies. I am sorry.
However, Xscape chose to support women and rape victims and give NeNe the boot. “This tour is for and about our fans and we want to provide an entertaining and enjoyable experience for every single person who attends,” a statement released by the girl group said.
