Shonda Rhimes is one of the inductees of the 2018 TV Hall of Fame class. The hall’s selection committee made the announcement today. Hayma Washington, chairman and CEO of the Television Academy, issued the following statement:

All of these individuals are innovators who have shaped television and left an indelible mark on the medium and our culture. We are honored to welcome the latest group of distinguished individuals and look forward to showcasing their impacts for future generations.

Shonda earned her place in this prestigious class with her long-running series Grey’s Anatomy, and now with the critically-acclaimed shows Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder. Shonda owns Thurday nights on television. Other inductees include Joan Rivers, the original Saturday Night Live cast, John Wells, and Roy Christopher.

The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 15, at the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center.
