A few months ago the world famous Black Eyed Peas teamed up with Marvel Comics to bring you, Master’s of the Sun – The Zombie Chronicles. The epic graphic novel centers around how a Hip-Hop group from East LA comes together to face off against an ancient alien god turning drug dealers and gangsters into flesh eating members of the undead. The genre bending comic artfully blends Hip-Hop with the magic that Marvel has been releasing throughout the years.

Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am penned this intriguing story set in a futuristic world while the images were brilliantly created by Benjamin Jackendoff and artist Damion Scott. His main character Zulu-X, who embodies the spirit of Hip-Hop, is thrown onto the front lines of the action-packed adventure, to challenge an ancient order with the combination of his wits and homegrown street smarts. Will.i.am stated the Black Eyed Peas has been working on this story for years and are excited for the new journey they group will be undergoing.

To kick it up a notch and make the entire experience ground breaking, the Black Eyed Peas are now bringing you an Augmented Reality app to bring the pages of the comic book to life and bursting off the page. The companion app brings a breath of a fresh air to the American experience ingrained pop culture for decades. At the same time sharing fresh ideas and stories featuring minorities. Tapping some of R&B and Hip-Hop’s elite the app features voiceovers and character work from Snoop Dogg, Common, Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and more.

In an interview with Marvel comics editor Axel Alonso, he discusses the group showcases the ability time and time again to effortlessly blend Hip-Hop with pop culture and bring it to the mainstream.
