Love & Hip-Hop star Ray J is bringing his acting skills to a theatre near you, as he has reportedly signed on to star in the musical production of “Thugs and the Women Who Love ‘Em.” The show is based on Wahida Clarks 2004 novel, and will be produced by Melvin Childs.

The plot of the show surrounds around the story of three friends who find themselves at a turning point where they have to make decisions that will either land them on a productive and successful path in life or choose to stand by the men they date and the lifestyles that comes with them. It will deliver a story that intertwines sex, nudity, violence, brutality and crime, yet still tells a love story. In addition to Ray J, the cast also includes Boosie Badazz, Lyfe Jennings, K. Michelle, Jamal Woolard, Sevyn Streeter and Karlie Redd.

“Thugs and the Women Who Love ‘Em” arrives in Detroit this weekend at the Fox Theatre and closes out in Baltimore, Maryland from 11/24-11/26 at the Lyric Opera House.
