Ever since the success of “Bodak Yellow”, Hip-Hop heads have been questioning what Cardi B has in store for the future. For the past couple of months, the Bronx hitmaker has been in the studio working on her forthcoming debut album and now, Cardi B is edging on the final touches. “Bodak Yellow” has a pretty great chance at becoming song of the year being that it has touched platinum status and has broken records. With this success and a pending debut album, a Beyoncé collab would be the icing on the cake for Cardi B.
The once Love and Hip-Hop star has reportedly locked in Beyoncé for her next single, which the title has been disclosed as “Wet.” According to Rap-Up, Cardi B’s engineer, Ashby exposed this news via Instagram Stories, where one of the slides showcase vocals under the label “Cardi B ft. Beyonce Demo Wet,” in which Ashby commented, “wow this feature is big.”
Cardi B’s debut album was said to be released this month, but it appears the release has been pushed back due to her striving for perfection. In her most recent interview with The Breakfast Club, she expressed her acts of contemplation: “Every single time I think I got all the 10 songs I’m like, I’m buggin. These ain’t it. It’s just like, damn I’m competing with myself.” Perhaps, this reported Beyoncé collab is now erasing those doubts.
Did the masses see this coming? Beyoncé and Cardi B formally met this past September at this year’s Made In America festival in Philadelphia, PA, in which the moment birthed one of the most viral photos of the Hip-Hop social media community for 2017. This reported collaboration has a great chance at pushing Cardi B’s debut album into the ranks of success.
