Vic Mensa recently tweeted a teaser project with DJ Drama. Drama responded with emojis and gifs of his expression of how it’ll be a good look for the two to do a project. The Chicago rapper has been going in with the freestyles for sometime. He recently dropped an ill freestyle including going dumb on Hot 97 over N.O.R.E’s “Banned From TV” beat. He visited Sway in the Morning back in July and breathed fire over Kendrick Lamar’s “HiiiPoWeR.” He even took shots at the 2017 Freshman XXL class during a session with L.A. Leakers on Power 106.

Vic’s debut album, The Autobiography, dropped in July through Roc Nation. The project features Weezer, Syd, The-Dream, Chief Keef, Joey Purp, Pharrell Williams, Saul Williams, Ty Dolla $ign and Pusha T. The album has some mixed genre but most of it is his rock side. For a first major milestone, Mensa’s album-length builds character from the young emcee. “Rollin’ Like a Stoner” is a big, clunky Kid Cudi homage about addiction, the titular chorus more than a little corny, but the angsty sentiment entirely sincere.
