There goes the neighborhood.
SUBURICON is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns… the perfect place to raise a family. The summer of 1959 the Lodges is the picture perfect family unit, until the chaos surfaces, un-masking a disturbing reality. Husband and father Gardner Lodge, played by Matt Damon, must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. This is Suburbicon.
The George Clooney directed film is set at the end of the 1950’s, in a neat and peaceful suburb. This all changes when an African American family moves into the neighborhood, this sets off a firestorm. Following the stories of “ordinary” people making extremely bad decisions, it draws parallels to the current social climate.
Julianne Moore, Oscar Isaac and Glenn Fleshler also stars in the the drama.
Suburbicon opens up in theaters on Friday, October 27.
