‘I cannot turn my life back around, I’m already a public figure. I’m famous’

Cardi B has had one hell of a year and she deserves it all. She’s living her best life. For the Bronx Native having a record breaking number one single, getting newly engaged to her fiancé Offset from The Migos and gracing the cover of the Rolling Stone is a huge accomplishment!

Mink, skin and her tongue out to the haters is how Cardi decided to show up to the Rolling Stone’s ‘Hot Issue’ photo-shoot. In the issue, the rapper discusses her come up, the pressure of post ‘Bodak Yellow’, Offset, her debut album and much more. Cardi B feels overwhelmed wanting to create singles that will continuously top the charts and a debut album that can live up to “Bodak Yellow”.

According to Rolling Stone, Cardi says she fears failure:

“If you go broke and lose your career, it’s bad and everybody is talking shit about it! At least if you lose your 9- to- 5 you don’t got millions of people judging you and talking shit while you lost your job.”  She goes on to say, “I cannot turn my life back around, I’m already a public figure, I’m famous, it’s like I might as well keep it going, might as well make the money. People are always going to talk shit, I cannot make myself un-famous.”

Cardi B discusses her lack of excitement for the music lately, she claims she’s just chasing hits now.

“It’s so sad to say, and I don’t want to be the one to say it, but you gotta follow the trend. This generation loves to get high, they love to be on drugs, this is why they on that shit. They don’t want to think about what you’re saying.”

She goes on to credit J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar as rappers who still write brilliantly and would love to follow suit but doesn’t think she can. She’d prefer just sticking to trapping.

Congratulations to Cardi B on a fantastic year and we hope for continued blessings.
