R&B Singer Chrisette Michele is still receiving enormous backlash for her choice to perform at Donald Trump’s Inauguration in January. Almost a year later and she is starting to feel the heat from it everywhere even more. The singer had stopped by The Breakfast Club this week to talk about the growing list of stressors she’s faced lately and how those may have wreaked havoc on her body, causing her to miscarriage. That is not a subject to be discussed lightly but thankfully she came forward about what had happened to her.

When asked whether or not she regretted singing at the Inauguration Michele responded with, “I regret everything that happened. I think that was a bad choice.” Chrisette also pointed out that she did not do the show for money as Questlove of the Roots tweeted months before by saying, “I’d pay Chrisette to NOT perform” in response to an assumed $250,000-750,000 payout that the singer received to attend.

Further in the interview the hosts went on to question Michele about her suicidal thoughts, posting someone else’s photograph of a miscarriage on Instagram and even about getting dropped from her label, Caroline Records/Capital Music Group. That is veraciously lot for a young star to be fighting with on top of the perils of just being an R&B artist and wanting to sing and tour. Towards the end of the interview, Michele apologized once more for appearing at the Inauguration Ball:

I did something that hurt a lot of people. It was offensive. While that wasn’t my intention, it’s what happened, and for that, I’m deeply sorry.

Do y’all think Chrisette Michele’s career as a successful singer is over? Are listeners and fans being way too hard on her on social media for a choice she regrets now?
