Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, 38, was found guilt of predatory sexual assault after repeatedly raping his former 11-year-old step daughter at his Long Island home.
Jurors delivered the verdict Thursday, November 9 at the end of Maraj’s monthlong trial.The defense claimed the allegations were fabricated in attempt to shake down Nicki for $25 million. However, Prosecutors say DNA evidence found in the little girl’s pajama’s groin area support the allegations. The girl’s little brother testified that he witnessed an assault, and the girl gave a very graphic testimony.
His lawyers said they will appeal. Neither Maraj or his sister testified, but his mother did supporting the claim that this case is an extortion.
Maraj is facing 25 years to life in prison. His sentence will go down on December 14.
