Taylor Swift can’t seem to leave the Kanye beef behind as she throws more shots in new song. Taylor Swift’s new album Reputation dropped on Friday, and there appears to be a song on the project that refers to their friendship and break-up last year. The song that details this fall-out is titled “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things,” and she explains her side in verse two.
“It was so nice being friends again/There I was giving you a second chance/But then you stabbed me in the back while shaking my hand/And therein lies the issue/Friends don’t try to trick you/Get you on the phone and mind-twist you/And so I took an axe to a mended fence,” she sings.
Swift also express that Wests’ relationship with Jay-Z when she sings “But I’m not the only friend you’ve lost lately/if only you weren’t so shady.” It is very clear that Taylor steal feels the burn of the “Famous” single and will probably continue to express her grievances through her music.
